For the first, have you experienced issues with Sim4Life crashing? Does the message show up when opening a new instance of Sim4Life, or only when opening specific smash files?
I assume that you have received the dongle and the license file. You will find Sim4Life installer under the "Sim4Life" folder on the DVD you have received. Please run and follow the steps there. Once you are done with the installation, you need to install the dongle and license file. To do that, please run the "Install License" (via Start menu under Sim4Life V7.0 | Licensing Tools) and follow the steps there to install the license file. Once you are done with the license installation, you should be able to run Sim4life. Please contact s4l-support@zmt.swiss if you experience any issues.
When you start Sim4Life, Ares runs in the background and can be identified by the icon icon_AresTray.jpg in the system tray. Right-clicking this icon will give access to the Ares window. Please refer to the section "2.14.2 Ares - Asynchronous Remote Service" in the Sim4Life manual.
Great to hear! Keep in min that you can use the same Ares and allow it to use multiple versions of the solvers. It will then automatically select the correct one depending on the version of the GUI you are submitting the simulation from. It is always recommended to use the latest version of Ares, but there are no restrictions on the versions and the number of solvers it can use.
as far as I know you can download it the software itself on all your machines, only when using it does it occupy your license, so you can only run one instance on one machine.
Okay, a short update on this issue:
I did absolutely nothing and it is fixed for me some how...
There might have been a windows update that fixed the problem, not sure about that though.
Curious if others have seen similar result.
