Hi I have found that my Sim4Life .smash project file can no longer open
    I get the warning:

Warning : Unable to load document D:\PATH\TO\FILE
Error : too many positional options have been specified on the command line

Before this happened, I had a simulation running, and I got a warning (something along the lines of Memory Error) that was logged to the console.

Is there any way to open this smash file again? It took several hours to run this simulation.

You can try recovering the file from the backup that Sim4Life creates every time you open a smash project.

In the folder with your smash file, there should be another file whose name ends with a period, includes the name of the original smash, has a lot of extra characters at the end, and whose size is the same as your original project.

If you rename this file to have the exact name of your original smash file and the correct extension, you might be able to recover your data.
