    Hi everyone,

I'm a beginner and currently working through the Sim4Life documentation to learn the basics.

I’m trying to practice the surface projection feature using the SAM Head phantom and a rectangular block, following the steps in Section 2.2.7 of the manual. I have a few questions and would really appreciate your help:

    1. Do both the SAM head and the rectangular block need to be remeshed before using the surface projection tool? I noticed the tool doesn’t appear unless I remesh the rectangular block.

    2. When I tried remeshing the block, the projection result didn’t look correct. Has anyone faced this issue or know what might be going wrong?

    3. The manual says:
"This tool requires that the checkbox 'Disable Triangle Mesh Model Picking' under FILE | Preferences | Modeling be de-selected."
But I can’t seem to find this setting. Is this still in the same place in the latest version, or has it moved?

Thanks in advance for any advice or suggestions!

      Hi @viniltc,

      1. Both the object to be projected (rectangular block) and the target surface (SAM head) must be mesh objects. You can identify a mesh object by the icon on the left of object in the Model tree (an irregular shape composed of give small triangular faces).

      2. If you have already converted the object to a mesh and the projection is not looking as you expect, you should remesh the object to have a higher resolution. Select your block, then go to 'Mesh Tools > Remesh', then you can for example decrease the target edge length. This will discretize the object into small triangles that can more closely match the surface after projection.

      3. What Version of Sim4Life are you using? The option is available in the latest release in the same location under 'Advanced'.
