Why is QS_UNSTRUCTURED_GUI enabled when QS_UNSTRUCTURED_SOLVER is not licensed?
-
Hello everyone,
I would like to ask for clarification regarding the unstructured LF/QS solver licensing behavior in Sim4Life.
Background
In my License Manager, the feature QS_UNSTRUCTURED_GUI is enabled, so I am able to create models using the unstructured (tetrahedral) LF/QS setup.
However, when I attempt to run an unstructured LF tutorial (Two Spheres – Unstructured LF), the simulation fails with the following message:ERROR: The license feature QS_UNSTRUCTURED_SOLVER is invalid! Please contact your help desk to add this feature license.
This suggests that I can build unstructured models, but I cannot actually run the unstructured QS solver.
My Questions
Is there any practical benefit or intended use case for having QS_UNSTRUCTURED_GUI without the QS_UNSTRUCTURED_SOLVER license?
(e.g., model preparation, visualization, compatibility, data inspection, etc.)Is this configuration expected, or does it indicate a potential licensing inconsistency?
What is the correct license feature needed to enable unstructured LF/QS simulations?
Should I be requesting the standalone QS_Unstructured Solver add-on?Additional Notes
Sim4Life version: 7.2.3.12730
The tutorial fails immediately before the solver starts.

Thank you very much for your help. Any clarification about the intended workflow or licensing requirements would be greatly appreciated.
